Program Description
1 year – 2 credits – Advanced Career Education (ACE) Center at Hermitage
This program is designed to be completed in one year during the 11th or 12th grade.
Healthcare Management (1 Credit): Students wishing to gain employment in the healthcare field may take this course to learn how to use medical terminology and apply administrative procedures necessary to be productive employees in a healthcare environment. Students will learn how to manage office activities, enhance communication and employability skills, identify legal and ethical issues in healthcare practices, and manage financial activities.
Career Strategies (1 Credit) : Career Strategies consists of an in-depth study of career clusters and pathways through a variety of investigative activities. Students analyze career assessment results, compare various educational options, and develop or revise a plan related to their academic and career-related goals.
Program Structure and Benefits
Career Technical Student Organization - Future Business Leaders of America: This organization prepares students for careers in business and leadership roles.
Real-World Experience: High-quality work-based learning will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and interests, integrated with instruction and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations. These students also have the option to gain practical work experience as an intern in related fields.
Certifications: Those who complete the program are eligible to earn their Workplace Readiness Skills (WRS) certification.
Dual Enrollment: Students can earn six transferable college credits through our partnership with ECPI University.
