Students in the Sports Medicine program at the ACE Center at Hermitage recently completed hands-on training to earn their Stop the Bleed certification, a nationally recognized program focused on emergency bleeding control. The training was led by professionals from VCU, who generously spent time working with students to teach essential life-saving techniques.
During the session, students learned how to pack wounds, apply tourniquets, and respond effectively to life-threatening bleeding situations. These skills are vital for anyone entering the healthcare field and provide students with practical experience that complements their classroom learning.
The certification is part of the ACE Center’s commitment to preparing students for real-world medical scenarios and empowering them to make a difference in their communities.
