TV And Media student pose with Channel 8 representative

The ACE Center at Hermitage’s TV Media Production Program recently hosted an exciting event featuring three guest speakers from Channel 8 (WIRC). Students had the unique opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals—a news reporter, a news producer, and a photojournalist—who shared their experiences and insights into the dynamic world of broadcast journalism.

During the session, the speakers discussed a variety of topics, including the different career paths available in the news field, the skills needed to succeed, and the realities of working in a fast-paced media environment. They also shared personal stories about how they began their careers and the steps they took to reach their current positions.

Our guests were impressed by the students’ thoughtful questions and active participation, as well as the state-of-the-art control room and studio equipment used in the program. Their feedback highlighted the high level of professionalism and enthusiasm displayed by our students.

This event was an eye-opening experience for everyone involved, offering valuable knowledge and inspiration for those considering careers in media and communications. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Channel 8 for taking the time to invest in our students’ futures.

Stay tuned for more exciting opportunities and events at the ACE Center at Hermitage!
