Student experiences visibility restrictions

The ACE Center at Hermitage’s Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy program recently visited South University for an immersive learning experience. Students participated in a variety of hands-on activities designed to build practical skills for future healthcare careers.

During the trip, students learned how to use a sock aid to assist with dressing, practiced cutting apples with adaptive utensils, created basic finger splints, administered standardized tests, and explored techniques for working with patients who have impaired vision. They also gained insight into pediatric therapy treatments and learned about South University’s Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) and Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) programs.

This field trip provided valuable exposure to real-world applications of therapy techniques and helped students better understand the opportunities available in the healthcare field.
