The ACE Center at Hermitage’s Legal Administrationclass, along with students from Criminal Justice, were invited to participate as jurors in the University of Richmond Law Students’ Mandatory Mock Trial Cases.
The mock trials are scheduled for November 5th, 18th, and 19th, with the first case held on November 5th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The trial was presided over by Chief Circuit Judge Randall and included two court bailiffs.
After delivering their verdict, Judge Randall asked the student jurors to provide constructive feedback to the law students acting as attorneys. Our students performed admirably, demonstrating professionalism and critical thinking throughout the process.
This experience offered an invaluable glimpse into the judicial system and the responsibilities of jurors, reinforcing the importance of civic engagement and legal knowledge.
