National Technical Honor Society

The ACE Center at Hermitage proudly hosted its 2026 National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Induction Ceremony, honoring students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, character, and commitment within Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

The National Technical Honor Society, founded in 1984, recognizes students who excel in technical education and prepares them to become skilled, ethical, and workforce‑ready professionals. Membership is built upon seven core attributes—skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership—each representing the values students are expected to uphold as future members of America’s workforce.

During the ceremony, these attributes were symbolically highlighted through a traditional candle‑lighting ritual, reinforcing the importance of excellence not only in technical ability, but also in character and professionalism. Students were formally inducted into NTHS and received official insignia including certificates, lapel pins, tassels, car decals, and graduation stoles—symbols of both achievement and responsibility.

A highlight of the evening was the keynote address by Dan Smith, Henrico County Board of Supervisors member and local business owner. Smith spoke to students about the importance of personal branding, emphasizing that professional success is shaped by consistency, attitude, and intentional choices. He encouraged students to think carefully about what they want to be known for—whether as reliable teammates, problem‑solvers, or leaders who lift others up.

Induction into the National Technical Honor Society also carries meaningful responsibility. Members pledge to maintain high standards of conduct, continue their record of scholastic excellence, invest their talents into their chosen careers, and serve as ambassadors for CTE and workforce education.

The 2026 NTHS Induction Ceremony celebrated not only student success, but the vital role career and technical education plays in shaping prepared, capable, and confident professionals. The ACE Center at Hermitage is proud to recognize these students and looks forward to watching them continue to grow as leaders, innovators, and contributors to their communities.
